It’s not every day that you get asked to share your printing company sights and sounds with an EMMY Award-winning composer. But that’s exactly what Tim Minor and Matt Olin – hosts of the popular breakfast lecture series, Creative Mornings, did when they introduced their uber talented friends, Jason Hauseman of Hot Sake and Ben Premeaux to Boingo!
It all started with a creative way to say thank you for our Boingo partnership with Charlotte Is Creative. We would soon learn more about Jason and his work, and just enough about the process to know we were in for a real treat! We set aside several afternoons for these guys to be with us listening, watching, and recording while our skilled technicians operated various types of printing and finishing equipment.
It was no surprise that Jason and Ben would seek out some of our vintage equipment to showcase. After all, a Heidelberg cylinder press has a lot of star power! Not to mention the wonderful sounds this equipment makes at the hands of our skilled craftspeople. What did surprise us, is how so many other print and finishing equipment sounds could play together to form this incredible piece of music. Of course we need to give the trumpet player some cred! That was one awesome contribution, Matt Postle!
This crazy cool project brought our entire team together for the “creative good” and several fun filled afternoons. Thank you to our Charlotte Is Creative community for allowing us to be part of this amazing piece of work!
