December 7, 2021, Charlotte, North Carolina – Tighter deadlines. More jobs. Shorter runs. Those are the things busy commercial printers face. With an increase in throughput of two and a half times, the Canon VarioPRINT iX 3200 Sheet-Fed Inkjet Press gives Boingo Graphics unprecedented speed and volume in digital printing.
“Like the best printers in the country, Boingo has a highly automated workflow,” says Boingo president, Scott Nowokunski. “When it fires on this month, the VarioPRINT iX will become the cornerstone of our digital printing department. It’s obviously exciting for us, but its significance to our clients and partners cannot be understated.”
With the industry’s newest technology, weighing in at 15,900 pounds and measuring 33 feet long, 9 feet wide and 7 feet high, Boingo’s new printing press will allow the company to meet and surpass customer expectation. The press, installed November 8 (ask us how we managed this feat), will start be fully operational December 13. Output will include the full spectrum of commercial print products – brochures, catalogs, postcards and more.
As ever-more digital as the world becomes, there is always the need for the printed piece. The materials you receive at your doctor’s office, the signage you see when you’re out and about, the direct mail you receive about the latest and greatest deals in town. It all requires careful management, printing and distribution. Boingo continues to invest in its services, and the VarioPRINT iX purchase – part of a million-dollar overall investment by Boingo – has been in the works for several years.
Faster turnaround. Less expensive. Higher quality. All things Boingo’s customers – from the area’s largest health care systems and financial institutions to its well-rooted nonprofit organizations – have come to expect over the company’s 30+ years in the print business in Charlotte.
“Our investment in this machine is an important addition to the strides we’ve already made in increased technology in our wide-format printing and finishing departments,” Executive Vice President Linda Kirby comments “Its ability to personalize printed pieces is perfect for direct mail and also compliments the online ordering portals we provide our customers.”
