About Girls on the Run International
At twice-weekly council meetings, Girls on the Run gets together in small teams. The girls in these groups learn life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. It’s an efficient way to receive instruction from certified coaches who help the girls develop better self-understanding, discover how to value relationships and teamwork, and understand how people connect with and shape the world at large.
The act of running is central to the Girls on the Run program. Used to inspire and motivate the girls, running encourages lifelong health and fitness as it builds confidence through accomplishment. The girls develop important social, psychological and physical skills and abilities, and these abilities and skills receive reinforcement throughout the program.
At the conclusion of each season, the girls complete a 5K run that gives them a sense of achievement and a framework for setting and achieving life goals. In the end, Girls on the Run helps to make the seemingly impossible possible and shows girls that they can achieve their goals. The organization inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that integrates running in a creative way.
With councils in many locations, Girls on the Run found it challenging to coordinate printing and delivery of marketing materials.
